Address by the Missionary Supervisor
Mrs. Cynthia Serwaa Dogbey delivered the keynote address, which focused on the holistic empowerment of the girl-child. Her message centered on:
Academic seriousness and responsibility: She talked about taking our books as our friends and focusing on our academics, and when we do such, we grow to become prominent people in the future.
Personal hygiene and health practices: She talked about personal hygiene which is very key and important to every female child. She made mention of some solutions that will help an individual to live a personal hygienic life.
Self-confidence, purpose, and leadership as young Christian women: She then motivated us on improving self-confidence. She said “As Ladies you need to have much confidence in expressing yourself when you get out there”.
She then encouraged the girls to uphold the values of the A.M.E. Zion Church and reminded them that excellence is achievable through determination, faith, and positive attitude. Her interaction was lively, motivational, and encouraging.

Message from Rev. Dr. Mrs. Helena Swanzy Essien
As a former Headmistress and a long-standing pillar of the school, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Swanzy Essien was warmly welcomed by both staff and students. She spoke passionately about the following
Discipline and moral uprightness: She encouraged students to stay chaste and should serious with their studies and also focus on God. She did talk about students respecting and obeying their teachers. The former Headmistress also encouraged the students that they can as well occupy high positions in the nation using the incumbent vice president of Ghana the fact that she is also a female and as well as the female Arch Bishop of the Anglican Church in Ghana.
She admonished student to be wise and not foolish as she quoted from the Bible in Proverbs 1:7-10 which says “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck”.
She also advised the students on morals and values and told them to be true to themselves. They should take their books very serious and grow to be useful citizens of the nation and to their familes.
Distribution of Sanitary Pads
One of the highlights of the visit was the distribution of
sanitary pads to all students. This gesture was part of the Church’s ongoing commitment to
supporting the welfare and dignity of the girl-child. The Missionary Supervisor, together with her team and school
leaders, supervised the distribution. Students expressed gratitude for the
thoughtful donation, acknowledging its importance in promoting menstrual
hygiene and reducing absenteeism among female students.
Closing and Departure
In her closing remarks, the Alpha Lady Abena Kessiwa Appiah thanked the Missionary Supervisor and the entire delegation for their generosity, mentorship, and continuous support for the school.
A prayer was offered to conclude the program. The delegation
was then escorted around parts of the campus before their departure in the
afternoon.
Conclusion
The visit of the Missionary Supervisor and accompanying team on 19th November 2025 was highly successful and impactful. It strengthened the relationship between the A.M.E. Zion Church and the school, inspired the students, and contributed to their personal and academic development.
